Southampton fans have taken to Twitter to react after Faro de Vigo reported that La Liga side Celta Vigo are eyeing up Oriol Romeu and Sofiane Boufal.
Both Romeu and Boufal have found themselves out of the starting XI recently as Ralph Hasenhuttl’s side enjoy an excellent run of form that has seen them win four and draw one of their last five Premier League games – a fine string of results that has propelled them into 12th place in the Premier League on 28 points.
Let’s see how the Southampton fans on Twitter reacted to the news…
sell both and bring in a player that’s an improvement on what we have.

To begin the reaction, this fan with the username ‘Djenepo Magic’ said “sell both” before adding that the Saints should also sign a player who’s an “improvement on what we have” – ruthless.
I say they can get Oriol if they offer 10m in the summer. Fact is, we don’t have much depth in that area of the pitch. Sof stays, not for sale.

Hands off sofiane but Ori 12-14 m for me ?

Controversial opinion, but IF we can recall Harrison Reed and we can get a fee for Romeu, I’d take that business. I like Romeu’s physicality but he’s not mobile enough for our midfield and I’ve been saying for a really long time that he doesn’t move the ball quickly enough. https://t.co/uVW3KkBTI0

Elsewhere, all three of these supporters expressed an openness in regards to a potential exit for Romeu.
The first two fans – Mark and Dave – issued a hands-off warning over Boufal, but the former said that Celta Vigo “can get Romeu if they offer £10m in the summer” while the latter supporter went slightly higher in saying £12m – £14m would do.
The third supporter – Tom – said that if the Saints recall Harrison Reed from his loan spell at Fulham and also get a fee for Romeu, he’d “take that business”.
Not having that!

It’s the dawn of a new decade in the Premier League, but how much do you know about the last 10 years?
Lastly, these two supporters issued a different tone to the other four fans.
Both Caroline and Sammy did not seem as if they wanted either Boufal and Romeu to depart, with the former saying “not having that!” while the latter said “simply not for sale”.
In other news, these Southampton fans think they’ve “been lied to again” after Ralph Hasenhuttl’s comments…
