Southampton’s recent monthly voting debate has come to an end, with Sofiane Boufal deservedly being awarded their Goal of the Month.
Boufal, Southampton’s most expensive signing, scored this brilliant effort in the Saints’ EFL Cup victory over Sunderland – which helped set up an intriguing quarter-final tie with Arsenal at the end of November.
Whatever angle you look at, there was only going to be one winner!

Although he faced tough competition from his team-mates, there was only ever going to be one winner and Boufal’s strike would be a contender for Goal of the Month in a wider competition, let alone just Southampton’s.
The Saints will hope that goal is the stepping stone for Boufal to become increasingly involved with Southampton’s successes, starting in tonight’s crucial Europa League clash with Italian giants Inter Milan.
Southampton face a tough run of fixtures across all competitions in November, with clashes with Hull City, Liverpool, Sparta Prague, Everton and Arsenal on the horizon before December comes about.
Sat ninth in the Premier League, the Saints need to find consistency if they are to improve their chances of returning to the Europa League next year.
