Southampton’s misery continued at the weekend when they were beaten 3-0 by Newcastle United at St James’ Park.
The Saints currently sit just one point above the relegation zone and only have eight games left to turn their season around.
It seems that a day does not go by when the fans do not bash manager Mauricio Pellegrino on Twitter.
The Argentine has taken the brunt of the criticism, and it is difficult to argue his case given that the team have only won five of their 30 league matches so far.
The only shining light at the moment seems to be the Saints’ FA Cup campaign, which continues on Sunday when they face Wigan Athletic in the quarter-finals.
With regards to league form, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg has spoken about how the team need to approach the coming games.

While the player himself may be taking the more optimistic viewpoint, the fans are fed up with the same rhetoric.

It’s easy to be a leader when things are going well, real leadership is demonstrated when times are really tough. Getting everyone fighting for a common purpose requires excellent communication. Where is our leadership?

Sorry, have I missed something? Has Hojberg been appointed manager & club spokesman? Time for the gutless management team to be wheeled out #saintsfc

Too late. I used to love going to see Saints play. You aren't Saints and I have seen enough. Farewell my old friend, everything comes to an end. The business has killed the passion. #RIPsaints

The best way to avoid the usual nonsense from the media team is to unfollow the account. A Premier league team with zero followers is a big statement. #unfollowSaintsFC
