Southampton manager Ralph Hasenhuttl has confirmed that a number of clubs have shown an interest in signing Manolo Gabbiadini from the south coast outfit in this January transfer window, as reported by the Daily Echo.

The 27-year-old striker has been on the fringes at St Mary’s Stadium this season and when he has had opportunities to feature for the first team he has invariably failed to take them. The Saints cannot afford to have a valuable squad place taken by a player who currently offers so little, so Hasenhuttl would be wise to oust the 11-cap Italy international in the January market if he can.

Having signed Gabbiadini from Napoli in 2017 for a fee of around £14 million, Southampton will know that they’re unlikely to make a profit - or even break even - on the striker if they sell him now, but the time to move on has come.

What do you think, Saints fans, should Gabbiadini be sold in this January transfer window?
