Southampton travel to Leicester this Saturday in what will be the first meeting between the two sides since that 9-0 defeat for the Saints at St Mary's towards the end of October.

On that day, Ralph Hasenhuttl's side suffered a miserable evening as they went into the half-time break 5-0 down, as well as a man down after Ryan Bertrand's VAR-assisted red card, before conceding four more following the resumption of play.

The south coast side ended that humiliating Friday in the relegation zone after suffering the joint-heaviest Premier League defeat of all time, with just eight points to their name from ten games - however, they have a chance at redemption this weekend.

Here's the XI that we think Hasenhuttl should deploy against Brendan Rodgers' men...

As you can see, we think Hasenhuttl should go full strength when the Saints visit the King Power Stadium this weekend.

In fact, this XI is the same as the one that recorded a mightily impressive 1-0 win over Tottenham in Southampton's last Premier League outing, in which Danny Ings scored the game's only goal.

It does, however, contain ten changes from the side that beat Huddersfield 2-0 in the FA Cup third round - only James Ward-Prowse started against Tottenham and against Danny Cowley's side.

We think the former RB Leipzig boss should drop Angus Gunn, Jake Vokins, Jannik Vestergaard, Maya Yoshida, Kevin Danso, Will Smallbone, Oriol Romeu, Sofiane Boufal, Che Adams and Shane Long from the XI, as the Foxes will be a different animal to the Terriers - a Championship side in comparison to the Premier League's second-placed outfit.

While Southampton have recovered well from the 9-0 loss and currently sit 12th with 25 points to their name, they remain only five points off the bottom three with survival still not secured by any means.

In that respect, Hasenhuttl cannot afford to be influenced by the FA Cup performance - this XI did well to beat Jose Mourinho's men, and none of them deserve to drop out of the side when Premier League action gets back underway.

In other news, these Southampton fans did not take kindly to this pundit's words on Danny Ings...
