The 31-year-old centre-back will stay in Serie A until the summer of 2020 and will look to add some depth and experience to the Italian outfit, who are struggling to compete in the top-flight and sitting just two places above the relegation zone.

Gilberto Silva requires little introduction as the retired Brazilian international was a big player for Arsenal in central midfield between 2002 and 2008, making 244 appearances for the Gunners, scoring 24 goals and assisting ten in the process as well.
Yoshida also noted that Silva won the World Cup, the Premier League and two FA Cups during his illustrious playing career, and it must’ve been an honour for the Japan international to meet such a legend of the game.
