Pressure on Pellegrino as Southampton fans expect improvement vs Everton

Southampton head into today’s game with Everton at St Mary’s with the pressure on Mauricio Pellegrino.

Having won just one match in two months, Saints find themselves just three points ahead of the English Premier League relegation zone and in desperate need of a victory soon.

With Everton in something of a form crisis of their own, and still without a permanent manager, today is the perfect opportunity to put together a good performance and pick up all three points in front of their own fans.

For some supporters, defeat today will be enough for them to think that Pellegrino must be sacked as boss despite only being at the club since the summer. They’re upset with poor, pragmatic performances that aren’t doing much for results and are failing to show ambition to climb up the table.

Can Saints find a way to win with the visit of the Toffees, or will this be the end of the line for Argentinian?
