Bradley Dack has made a brilliant start to life in the Championship. Having notched 18 goals and racked up nine assists on course to promotion from League One with Blackburn Rovers last time out, the attacking-midfielder has maintained his form into the second tier. In his first six matches at Championship level, the 24-year-old has already found the back of the net four times and registered an assist.
With a Transfermarkt valuation of just £4.5 million, Dack’s exceptional start to the season ought to attract Premier League interest in January. If a top flight side could pick up the Englishman for a fee in the region of the aforementioned figure, then the prolific Rovers man would be worth the punt. Given James Maddison’s strong start at Leicester City, first tier clubs ought to recognise the quality that the division below has to offer.
Southampton are one of the Premier League outfits who would be wise to secure Dack’s services in the winter transfer window. The Saints, who only just escaped relegation last time out, are in dire need of some extra goal threat and creativity in their midfield. With funds likely to be limited at St Mary’s Stadium, Mark Hughes should give Dack the opportunity to translate his Championship form to the top tier. If successful, it’d go down as a transfer masterstroke.
However, Saints fans appear to want to see a player of more proven pedigree come in to add that extra bit of quality to their squad. When asked if they’d like to see the south coast club gamble on Dack, 65% of supporters said no. See the full results below.
