According to Italian outlet Corriere dello Sport, reported via Calciomercato, Southampton striker Manolo Gabbiadini has refused to rule out a move to Bologna.
The Italian forward has struggled for game time at St Mary’s Stadium in recent months, though, his current form hardly warrants inclusion in Mark Hughes’ starting XI.
With the Saints currently floundering in 16th place, and with just 6 goals scored in 10 Premier League games so far, they really can’t afford to be carrying non-scoring forwards.
As it is though, the 26-year-old has scored just 11 times for Southampton in 52 appearances for the club since his arrival on the south coast in January 2017.
The Saints would be better off cutting their losses on the out-of-form Gabbiadini in the upcoming winter transfer window and using the funds raised to gamble on a new striker who may be able to fire them to top flight survival.
However, plenty of Southampton fans retain faith in the 11-cap Italy international, with 71% of those we polled stating that they believe he still has a future at the club. See the full results below.
