According to Sport Klub, Serbia winger Filip Kostic says Southampton midfielder Dusan Tadic is their answer to Wales' Gareth Bale.

What's the word, then?

Well, the Serbians travel to face Wales in a 2018 World Cup qualifier this weekend and the Hamburg man has said that Saints playmaker Tadic can be his nation's matchwinner at the Cardiff City Stadium, just like Bale often is for the Welsh.

Kostic said: "[Gareth] Bale stands out in a solid Welsh team as the one player who can turn the game around by himself.

"But we have our own match winner in Dusan Tadic."

Is the comparison deserved?

Based on the qualifying campaign so far, yes. The 27-year-old has played a part in all eight of Serbia's goals to date - three goals and five assists - which has led to the obvious comparisons with Bale, who is so effective for Wales.

Serbia are currently top of the group on goal difference with seven points from their three games as they look to qualify for their first major tournament since the 2010 World Cup.

And for his club?

Just like for his country, Tadic has also been the main playmaker for Southampton in the Premier League so far this term - making 27 key passes, which is six more than second-placed Nathan Redmond - but the Saints' failure to convert their chances mean he is yet to pick up an assist.

However, he did score against West Ham in a 3-0 win at the London Stadium.
