Saturday was a day of regrets for Southampton after they failed to pick up all three points away to Everton in the English Premier League.

Leading 1-0 heading in the final 10 minutes of the match, defender Maya Yoshida was sent off before dreadful defending resulted in a stoppage time equaliser from Tom Davies.

The result could be crucial in Saints' battle to beat the drop to the English Championship, although the draw did mean they move out of the relegation zone on goal difference.

They now face a mammoth match against Swansea City on Tuesday night with the winner taking a massive step towards safety.

Much of the criticism around the equalising goal was aimed at Ryan Bertrand, who inexplicably kept a ball that was heading out, in-play, before losing possession that led to Davies' deflected shot.

Had he let the ball go out for a throw in it would have allowed his side to regroup and perhaps see out the match as winners.

Fans took to Twitter to discuss the incident, failing to understand how it could happen...
