Southampton manager Mauricio Pellegrino has come under plenty of heat from the supporters.
The Argentine is in his first season in charge at St Mary’s, but the results have been dismal.
As it stands, the club sit in the relegation zone, one point from safety after 24 Premier League games.
The team have not tasted victory since November and have only come out on top four times in the league this season.
The style of play has also come under scrutiny, while the Saints’ attacking stars have been misfiring so far.
After news broke that Watford had sacked head coach Marco Silva, attention turned to St Mary’s.
According to a recent report in The Sun, the hierarchy at Southampton are admirers of Silva, who was dismissed by the Hornets following one win in 11 league matches.
Suggestions have been made that the Portuguese coach could oust Pellegrino from the hot seat, and now fans have discussed on Twitter whether they would welcome the switch.
Marco Silva to Saints please ?⚪️?⚪️ #SaintsFC

Hull fans loved him even with relegation. Watford one is just a mess. I’d still take Silva as he’s better than what we have. Don’t care if he moves on. Keep us up. #Saintsfc

7 days to go & you know what? If all we did was get Silva in I’d be happy, Palace, Swansea etc picked up form through being managed properly, not just players coming in. #saintsfc pic.twitter.com/HApUWs3WIg

Surely they aren’t that naive? Silva is a good coach. Plays attractive, attacking football. #saintsfc have the players to flourish under him. Idiots if they don’t make their move while they still can. https://t.co/HuMBJZfCR3

Given the #SaintsFC players believe in and respect Pellegrino (talk of losing the dressing room seems to be #FakeNews from those with an agenda) I can't see swapping him for the currently over-rated and under-performing Silva being anything other than an unmitigated disaster.

PellegriNO has taken a team (minus 2 players) that finished 8th last season and turned them into a bottom 3 team. Marco Silva is available, but some #saintsfc fans are saying he's a mercenary. Ok that he may be, but lets stick with PellegriNO just in case Silva leaves later on

Why is everyone wanting Marco Silva? Am I missing something as he no better than what we have… I keep saying it but the manager isn’t the problem at our club, LOOK AT THE BOARD! … stop blaming the fall guy. Didn’t realise football fans are so fickle #SaintsFC @AdamBlackmore

New manager needed yes ! Silva no ! He’s acted unprofessional at Watford & will only be done to us if a new “bigger” club perks up #saintsfc
