Southampton fans debate possibility of Silva replacing Pellegrino

Southampton manager Mauricio Pellegrino has come under plenty of heat from the supporters.

The Argentine is in his first season in charge at St Mary’s, but the results have been dismal.

As it stands, the club sit in the relegation zone, one point from safety after 24 Premier League games.

The team have not tasted victory since November and have only come out on top four times in the league this season.

The style of play has also come under scrutiny, while the Saints’ attacking stars have been misfiring so far.

After news broke that Watford had sacked head coach Marco Silva, attention turned to St Mary’s.

According to a recent report in The Sun, the hierarchy at Southampton are admirers of Silva, who was dismissed by the Hornets following one win in 11 league matches.

Suggestions have been made that the Portuguese coach could oust Pellegrino from the hot seat, and now fans have discussed on Twitter whether they would welcome the switch.
