According to the Daily Echo, Southampton defender Maya Yoshida has decided to snub interest from Saudi Arabian champions Al-Hilal to stay with his Premier League club.

It is understood that the Riyadh-based outfit were prepared to offer Yoshida a lucrative financial package to complete a deal this summer.

However, Yoshida has reportedly rejected the interest due to his happiness at Southampton.

The 29-year-old, who is gearing up to represent Japan at this summer's World Cup, scored twice in 28 appearances for Southampton during the 2017-18 campaign.

The futures of a number of Southampton players are believed to be currently up in the air, but it seems that the Saints will be able to count on Yoshida next season.

The Southampton fans have been reacting to the news, and it would be fair to say that the bulk are delighted, despite the centre-back not always being in their good books this season.
