Southampton host Watford in the fourth round of the FA Cup at St Mary's on Saturday, and Saints fans have demanded that out of favour striker Manolo Gabbiadini starts the match.

Despite a brilliant start to his career with the south coast outfit when he joined them from Napoli this time last year, the goals have dried up for the Italy international and his start against Tottenham Hotspur last weekend was his first since the defeat to Chelsea in December.

The 26-year-old probably only got a chance against Spurs because Shane Long was absent as he was suffering from flu, while the £19m arrival of Guido Carrillo from Monaco this week could push him further down the pecking order.

Southampton supporters have been quick to have their say on Gabbiadini via social media, and while one said "start with Gabbi and bring Carrillo on 65-70th minute", another said 'let's hope Pellegrino plays Gabbi in the middle'.

Here is just a selection of the Twitter reaction…
