According to Sky Sports, West Ham United are willing to sell former Southampton winger Michail Antonio this summer should they receive a bid of more than £15m for him, and Saints fans have been quick to deliver their verdict on a potential return for the attacker.
Sky Sports say that the 28-year-old has impressed new Irons boss Manuel Pellegrini in training, but having endured an injury-hit campaign last term they would be willing to cash in on him for the right price.
Antonio certainly made a big impression during a loan spell with the south coast outfit during 2009/10 season, scoring seven goals in 39 appearances in all competitions, including one in their Johnstone’s Paint Trophy final success against Carlisle United at Wembley.
Southampton supporters, who have urged their club to sign a Barcelona defender this summer, have been quick to deliver a verdict on whether their club should move for the wideman via social media, and while one said they would “love to have him back at St Mary’s”, another said “he’s good, just think we could do better”.
Here is just a selection of the Twitter reaction…
Would love Antonio back here 😍 #SaintsFC

Absolutely, love to have him back at St Mary's, can literally play any position you need him to…

If he didn't have injury worries, he'd be absolutely ideal. Can play RWB, RW, ST – three positions we could do with more depth in. Gutted he's so injury-prone because he's a really likeable guy imo.

Really, he is a better player than Redmond and at £10 million that’s a bargain

Hes good, just think we could do better. Redmonds gonna break through this year, Hughes knows how to manage him

Nah. His hamstring pops a lot… Not worth it imo
