Lots of Southampton fans have taken to Twitter to call for the sale of Jack Stephens to Aston Villa.

According to The Mirror (July 2, 13:29), the Midlands club are interested in signing the 25-year-old defender.

The Englishman made 29 appearances for Saints last season, contributing one goal and one assist.

But the south coast club are reportedly looking to generate further funds by listening to offers for some players, having already signed Moussa Djenepo and Che Adams for a total of £30million.

Stephens showed his versatility during the 2018/19 campaign as he played at centre-half in both a back three and a back four, while also being utilised as a right full-back on a few occasions.

But with four other senior options in the middle of defence, manager Ralph Hasenhuttl could see it as a position in which they can afford to cash in on someone.

And Saints supporters are more than on board with the idea of selling Stephens to Villa, regardless of the price.
