Southampton fans frustrated by Gabbiadini’s role after Burnley defeat

Burnley’s incredible start to the season continued on Saturday, winning 1-0 away to Southampton in English Premier League action and moving to within touching distance of the top four teams in the table.

Sam Vokes was the hero of the day for the visitors, nodding home just nine minutes from time to secure all three points.

Mauricio Pellegrino’s men have now won just one match in six attempts in the top-flight, with fan pressure growing on the Argentinian and serious questions being asked of his tactics.

At the centre of fans’ frustrations is how he utilises striker Manolo Gabbiadini, many believing that he is not being used correctly as a lone striker.

Supporters were also left fuming when he was substituted off for another striker, rather than pairing him with one, as they chased a win against Burnley at home.

Should Pellegrino utilising a more attacking set-up and show more ambition to get all three points in matches? Or will his more pragmatic style eventually win through?
