Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg was a pivotal figure in Southampton’s 4-1 victory over Everton at the weekend.
The midfielder, who moved to St Mary’s from Bayern Munich in 2016, has made just two appearances for the club this season so far.
An injury kept him out of contention, but after his performance against the Toffees, the 22-year-old could be getting more minutes under his belt from now on.
In a piece with the club’s media team, Hojbjerg gave an insight into his mindset when trying to fight for a first-team spot.
The fans were impressed with the midfielder’s comments.
Love this! All the energy and attitude that many of our team have lacked for large parts of this season. Football need’s more Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg’s… #pierrehojbjergfanclubmember

The Saints’ triumph over the Merseyside outfit was the club’s first win since October 21 when they claimed a 1-0 victory over West Bromwich Albion.
Ahead of Wednesday’s Premier League clash against league leaders Manchester City, Mauricio Pellegrino’s side sit 10th in the table after 13 fixtures.
The team have scored 13 top-flight goals and conceded 15 at the other end.
