Southampton fans praise Josh Sims after game-changing performance

Southampton fans have taken to Twitter to praise Josh Sims, after the academy graduate turned in a game-changing appearance from the substitutes bench against Tottenham on Saturday.

Sims, who spent the first half of the season on loan at Reading before being recalled following Ralph Hasenhuttl’s appointment, was making his first appearance of the season for the Saints.

In this era of ‘big 6’ dominance, has finishing 7th become as good as winning a trophy? The Pl>ymaker FC squad have their say in the video below…

The 21-year-old was introduced at half-time by Hasenhuttl with the South Coast side trailing Spurs by a 1-0 deficit, before two second-half goals helped them grab all three points.

It was Sims who played the biggest role, stretching the north London-based side’s defence and creating opportunities for his teammates in doing so.

The young Englishman’s heroic cameo appearance could potentially be the start of his resurrection at St Mary’s, and has certainly put him in the thoughts of Hasenhuttl for the final eight games of the season.

Let’s see what the Southampton fans on Twitter are saying about his performance…
