Former Southampton attacker Dusan Tadic captained Ajax and impressed in his new team's 3-0 Champions League victory against AEK Athens in Amsterdam on Wednesday night, and Saints fans were quick to react.

The Serbia international departed St Mary's after four years during the summer for a new challenge back in the Netherlands, having struggled to replicate the form he had shown under Ronald Koeman previously with Claude Puel and then Mauricio Pellegrino.

However, the 29-year-old was pivotal in Mark Hughes' men's battle against relegation before he departed, and he is now shining for his new club with his latest assist against the Greek outfit meaning he now has seven goals and five assists in 12 appearances in all competitions this term.

Southampton supporters, who should be furious with Les Reed over this ludicrously bad transfer call from 2017, took to social media to have their say on Tadic's latest display, and while one said "no wonder he couldn't wait to leave us for Ajax", another asked: "Why oh why did we let him go?"

Here is just a selection of the Twitter reaction…
