Former Southampton midfielder Dusan Tadic picked up the assist for Ajax in their impressive 1-1 Champions League draw against Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena on Tuesday night, and Saints fans on Twitter were quick react.

Despite the fact that the Serbia international had been one of their key attacking players during his four seasons at St Mary's, the 29-year-old seemingly wanted out during the summer and was sold – on the cheap given his ability, record and his impressive performances for his country at the 2018 World Cup – for an initial £10m.

He has gone on to make a big impression since leaving the south coast outfit, who should look to appoint a 43-year-old former Saint to replace Mark Hughes and improve their defensive record, for his new club, scoring seven goals and providing a further seven assists in 15 appearances in all competitions this term.

Southampton supporters took to social media to give their thoughts on Tadic's latest display, and while one said "what have we done", someone else said "it's another dreadful decision by those running the club".

Here is just a selection of the Twitter reaction…
