Nigel Adkins spent three years in charge of Southampton between 2010 and 2013.

The former goalkeeper earned promotion in two consecutive seasons while in charge of the Saints.

Adkins guided the team from League One to the Championship in the 2010-11 campaign and then went one better the following season.

The Saints finished second to claim a promotion spot to the Premier League, where the club have remained ever since.

Adkins failed to make it through the club's first season back in the top flight, though, as he was sacked in January 2013 and replaced by Mauricio Pochettino.

The Birkenhead-born coach went on to manage Reading and Sheffield United, and this week, he was appointed as the new manager of Hull City.

Adkins had been out of work since his departure from Bramall Lane in May last year, and now that he is back in the managerial merry-go-round, Southampton fans have had their say on Twitter.
