Former Southampton and now West Bromwich Albion striker Jay Rodriguez has been charged with alleged racial abuse by the FA following an incident with Brighton and Hove Albion defender Gaetan Bong on January 13, and Saints fans have been quick to have their say on the news.

The 28-year-old left Saints to move to the Hawthorns during the summer after struggling to get regular game time at St Mary's, and he has certainly had more opportunities with the Premier League strugglers and scored two superb goals in their 3-2 win against Liverpool in the fourth round of the FA Cup just a fortnight ago.

However, Rodriguez was seen to pinch his nose following an altercation with Bong when West Brom faced the Seagulls last month, and now he has been charged he has until February 16 to appeal the decision.

Southampton supporters took to social media to give their thoughts on the situation, and while one said "we've got your back", another said "100% behind you Jay".
