Southampton fans react as Leicester game is rearranged three days before semi-final

Southampton announced on their official club Twitter account on Thursday that their previously postponed Premier League clash against Leicester City at the King Power Stadium has been rearranged to three days before their FA Cup semi-final clash against Chelsea at Wembley, and Saints fans have been quick to react.

The south coast outfit were due to face the Foxes on April 21, but that has now been put back two days after they beat Wigan Athletic 2-0 at the DW Stadium to reach the last four of the FA Cup on Sunday.

The news may come as a blow to Mark Hughes, who is reportedly targeting a £20m summer move for Stoke City playmaker Xherdan Shaqiri, with his team battling against the drop as well as eyeing cup success, although there is a slight positive for them in the fact that Chelsea face a trip to Burnley on the same night.

Southampton supporters took to social media to give their thoughts on the news, and while one labelled the decision as “scandalous”, another described it as a “complete joke”.
