Southampton fans react on Twitter as Jay Rodriguez stars in West Brom win

Former Southampton attacker Jay Rodriguez scored one and assisted another in West Bromwich Albion’s 2-0 Championship win against Bolton Wanderers at the Macron Stadium on Monday night, and Saints fans were quick to react to his display on Twitter.

Saints sold the striker to the west Midlands outfit in the summer of 2017 after he failed to rediscover the fine form he showed prior to a serious injury suffered towards the end of the 2013/14 season, but he couldn’t help the Baggies avoid relegation last term despite some impressive performances that saw him score against Manchester City, Liverpool and Manchester United.

The 29-year-old has hit the ground running for his team in England’s second tier during the current campaign however, and 14 goals and three assists in 28 league appearances (as per Whoscored) have helped push Darren Moore’s men to third in the Championship table.

Southampton supporters took to social media to give their thoughts on the former Saints ace’s latest showing, with one believing he would perform excellently under current manager Ralph Hasenhuttl. Here is just a selection of the Twitter reaction…
