Former Southampton midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin has conducted an interview with The Times speaking about his current situation at Everton, and Saints fans have been quick to react.

The Frenchman left the south coast for Manchester United in the summer of 2015 as one of the best in his position in the Premier League and a regular in the France squad, but things didn't work out for him at Old Trafford before he joined the Toffees in January 2017.

It has been largely up and down for the 28-year-old at Goodison Park too as he spoke about being a target for the boo-boys during a difficult 2017/18 campaign for the Merseyside outfit, although he has started three of their four top flight games so far this term – missing the other through injury.

Southampton supporters have taken to social media to give their thoughts on Schneiderlin's words, and while one said he "has gone massively backwards for club and country", another said "don't blame him for leaving".

Here is just a selection of the Twitter reaction...
