Southampton have finally made the call, Mark Hughes has been sacked.
The manager who saved Saints last season has been a disaster in the new campaign, and leaves with the St Mary’s natives residing in the relegation zone on nine points.
Worst of all for the south coast side, though, is that they had won just the single Premier League game out of the 14 before Hughes was sacked – the only team to do so.
The final nail in the coffin turned out to be a 2-2 draw at home to Manchester United, in which Southampton started strongly and snatched a two-goal lead after 20 minutes.

As the first half progressed, however, the Saints’ level of intensity dropped, and the visitors were able to ease back into the game by scoring twice in six minutes.
Naturally, after a poor start to the season, many Southampton fans were delighted with the decision the club made, but not all of them were.
Never a nice or easy decision to make, but in my opinion the correct move from the club. There’s still enough time in this season to enjoy a great second half. Take your time making right appointments, quality shouldn’t be compromised by finance. #SaintsFC

These Southampton fans have shown clear doubt in their club, given they were the ones who handed Hughes a long-term deal in the summer and thought of the 55-year-old as the “perfect fit”.
Paying out more compensation money on managers is ridiculous. The problem is a lot deeper than the manager. You’ll only bring in another donkey…..

? the managers get so much slack. But who hires these in the first place and who doesn’t replace the defenders we sold..the blame lies deeper for me! Can’t wait for everyone to moan who we appoint next ?

The club need to look at themselves not the manager

The problem is not just the manager. There is a much needed restructure required!!! Another manager…how long this time???

This was never going to work for a full season he got the new manager bounce and got some points to keep us up. He has lost his touch on the sidelines and hasn’t been able to recruit or draw quality in. I would rather be in the championship

Should never have got the job full time in the first place
