The games selected will be played on April 20 and January 2 respectively with fans able to purchase tickets at £20 rather than the league-mandated £30-cap for away fans.
Virgin and the south coast side have previously teamed up to offer supporters cheaper matchday tickets, most recently with away fans attending Saints home matches.
In Wednesday’s announcement, the club confirmed that the away discount for fans attending fixtures at St Mary’s Stadium would be stopping, however, as the two parties look into further fan initiatives targeted towards home supporters.
The timing of the offer comes as Mark Hughes continues in charge of a side just a goal outside the relegation zone after 12 games, tied on points with Cardiff City.
Some fans reacted to the ticket news by making reference to the poor start to the Premier League season, while others reacted with discontent…
Good to see they’ve stopped subsidising the away fans at St Mary’s. That was a bone-headed initiative in the first place. #Saintsfc fans want the club to reward them, not the opponents, seeing as we already give goals and points to them.

Lovely. Maybe they can stop subsidising away fans coming to SMS. I mean lets subsidise fans who want to come SMS to abuse players & fans of the club we sponsor and cheer on the opposition, whilst there are empty seats in the home stands. #MakesSense #saintsfc

Could they subsidise 3 points by any chance?

Fair play. Can you take the biggest allocation this time though. Last time we virgin did this at chelsea we only took 2,000 tickets
