Southampton fans ready calls for Mark Hughes to be sacked after Watford comments

Mark Hughes has not left himself in the Saints fans’ best books with recent results far from perfect.

In the 11 games so far in the Premier League this season, Southampton have recorded just seven points and scored just seven times. Only one side in Huddersfield have managed to score fewer times.

It is not as if recent form is out of the ordinary under the Welshman either as since taking over from Mauricio Pellegrino he has won just five of his 23 games, meaning the 55-year-old holds the worst win percentage of any permanent Southampton manager.

Speaking via the club’s official Twitter account, Hughes discussed the mood in the camp going into Saturday’s clash with Watford, noting: “[There’s been] good determination and a little bit of anger, a little bit of frustration.

“At the weekend [against Watford] I think circumstances of this week will help us and we’ll make sure that we’ll get maximum points I’m sure.

“If we play to our capabilities then we will win.”

Certainly these fans are ready for Southampton to follow recent changes on a board level with the axing of the manager…
