Southampton are now just three points above the English Premier League relegation zone after a 1-0 Saturday defeat to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

Despite not collapsing in the manner they did to Leicester City mid-week, it's the fifth successive match that Saints have failed to win and they're at risk of being pulled into a relegation dogfight in the second half of the season.

Fans were again left frustrated with the tactics and team selection of Mauricio Pellegrino with many perplexed at the decision not to start Charlie Austin or substitute off Nathan Redmond during the match.

Criticism of Redmond was sharp in the aftermath of the defeat with some supporters feeling he doesn't offer enough attacking threat to justify his place in the Saints team right now. Some are even asking him to be sold in January.

It was never going to be easy against the reigning champions but Redmond and Southampton need to turn around their poor form soon.
