According to a report in The Sun, Southampton are lining up a £15m move for Spezia striker David Okereke as they grow frustrated in their bid to sign Birmingham City's Che Adams, but Saints fans on Twitter are in no doubt as to who they would prefer.

The Sun report that Ralph Hasenhuttl had made the 22-year-old Championship attacker his number one target during the summer transfer window, but negotiations have stalled and now they are said to have turned their attentions to the Nigerian instead.

10 goals and 12 assists in 30 Serie B appearances last season is certainly an impressive record for the 21-year-old, but it doesn't quite match up to the 22 goals and five assists Adams notched in 46 Championship outings for the Blues in 2018/19.

Southampton supporters are probably a little bit mystified as to why they are reportedly ready to pay £15m for Okereke, while they seem unwilling to go above £14m for Adams.

Those fans have certainly been clear in their thoughts as to who they would prefer out of the duo however, with the latter clearly favoured.

Southampton's new man Moussa Djenepo divides opinion amongst fans in the video below...

While one individual replied to the latest Okereke rumour by saying "just get the deal done for Che", another said "Che Adams should remain our top target".

Here is just a selection of the Twitter reaction…
