Southampton's three-game unbeaten run in the Premier League ended on Saturday in a 1-0 defeat to Burnley.

The match at St Mary's looked on course to end in a goalless draw until Sam Vokes struck in the 81st minute.

It was a blow to the Saints, who sit 13th in the table, just four points above the relegation zone.

Under manager Mauricio Pellegrino, the team have won just three of their 11 top-flight fixtures and they were dumped out of the Carabao Cup in their opening match due to a 2-0 loss to Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Some fans have grown frustrated with the results, which have seen just nine league goals scored.

On Twitter, the club reminded supporters that tickets for upcoming games, including ones against Arsenal and Leicester City are due to go on sale.

The response, though, was a negative one, with many Southampton fans claiming that they will not go to watch the team unless the performances improve.
