According to the Manchester Evening News, Manchester United are interested in signing Southampton defender Cedric Soares in this summer’s transfer window.
The 26-year-old, who has been with the Saints since 2015, is widely expected to move on at the end of the season regardless of whether Southampton survive in the Premier League.
Tottenham Hotspur have recently been credited with an interest in the 26-time Portugal international, but Man United are said to have joined the hunt, with Red Devils boss Jose Mourinho believed to be a firm admirer of his fellow countryman.
The Southampton fans were asked whether they would mind if the right-back was sold to the 20-time English champions in this summer’s transfer window, and a large number openly welcomed the potential exit.
Indeed, the majority of the club’s supporters would rather take the money and reinvest in the squad ahead of the 2018-19 campaign, which looks likely to be in the Championship.

Sell!! he’s a good player for a top 8 team but when it comes down to a fight he’s not the player we need which is evident from his performances this season

Worst right back in the premier league, can’t head, can’t tackle and can’t cross a ball. This would be a great bit of business imo

Take it, take it now. God forbid they might see him try and defend the far post on a cross!
