Some Southampton fans have taken to Twitter to welcome their new signing Che Adams to St Mary's.

The 22-year-old joins the south coast club off the back of a stellar season with Championship side Birmingham, where he scored 22 goals and provided five assists in 48 appearances.

The Englishman has finally completed the move after interest from Saints to bring him in during the January window was unsuccessful.

The fee is reportedly around £15million and is the second forward they have signed already this summer following the acquisition of Moussa Djenepo last month.

News of Adams' arrival came on the same day that Saints fans also learned of Matt Targett's departure from the club as he joined fellow Premier League side Aston Villa.

The 23-year-old left his boyhood club after many years at the club which stretched back to when he joined their youth team back in 2003.

But regardless of the news around Targett, Ralph Hasenhuttl's loyal supporters were in buoyant mood about the signing of Adams, giving him a warm reception on social media.
