This summer yet another player swapped the Premier League for MLS.

This time though it wasn’t an experienced veteran looking to close out his playing days in the USA, it was a youngster trying to prove himself while out on loan.

Josh Sims joined the likes of Bastian Schweinsteiger, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Wayne Rooney by moving from the English top-flight to MLS, but he did so in very different circumstances.

It was a bit of a baptism of fire for Sims. His first game was against the Red Bulls’ fiercest rivals, NYCFC, who also happen to be one of the best teams in the Eastern Conference.

Sims was one the wrong end of a 2-1 defeat, but despite the fact he got off to a losing start he made it very clear on social media that he enjoyed the game and he’s looking forward to the next one.
