Southampton’s victory over Inter Milan last night saw Claude Puel’s side maintain their fantastic goalscoring run at St Mary’s Stadium in 2016, with the Saints scoring in all but one of their home matches this year.
The victory in the Europa League puts Southampton in a great position to seal their spot in the knock-out rounds of the competition and Puel will be looking for his side to do exactly that, with two games remaining against Sparta Prague and Hapoel Be’er Sheva.
Given Southampton’s run of form at St Mary’s, you’d expect the Saints to progress, as the only side to prevent them finding the net on home soil in 2016 has been Antonio Conte’s title-chasing Chelsea.

Southampton know they have to improve though as they’ve won just three of their last eight games in all competitions and have a testing month ahead, where they clash with the likes of Everton, Liverpool and Arsenal.
Sat ninth in the Premier League, Southampton will be hoping for more consistency in the coming weeks to help them rise up the standings and into the European spots.
