Southampton have risen to become a force in English football in recent years and have remained competitive in the top-flight despite regularly losing their star players to Premier League rivals.
This year, the Saints have continued going about their business under Claude Puel and they’re also looking strong in the Europa League, ahead of tomorrow’s crucial clash with Italian giants Inter Milan at St Mary’s.
Everybody seems to love Southampton, and even the Pope was commenting on the Saints’ form this season – although it is possible the social media team on the South Coast caught the wrong end of the stick.
The saints have found the secret of authentic happiness, which lies deep within the soul and has its source in the love of God.

Pope Francis was probably talking more about the religious Saints than he was about Southampton’s charge for a European spot in the Premier League but, given the popularity of England’s top division worldwide, it is possible that the world’s leading religious figure was staking his claim for a career in punditry.
We reckon he should be given a chance as he’d certainly be better than Michael Owen and Robbie Savage.
