Luke Shaw is set to return for Southampton at Tottenham on Saturday but Gaston Ramirez and Danny Fox are both suspended.
The duo were both sent off in last Saturday’s 3-0 drubbing against West Brom at St Mary’s and, as a result, start the first of their respective three-match suspensions.
Saints boss Mauricio Pochettino will be boosted by the news Luke Shaw came through training on Friday and looks set to return from an ankle injury in the left-back position.
That means Nathaniel Clyne, who was set to be switched to the left side of the defence to cover for Shaw and the banned Fox, can stay in his natural position to try and shackle the recently crowned PFA Player and Young Player of the Year award winner Gareth Bale.
Skipper Adam Lallana has called on his team-mates to respond to the West Brom defeat with a much improved display at White Hart Lane.
“We’ve had a good week’s training and the manager has got his points across to us,” he told Saints Player.
“We’ve analysed the West Brom game and hopefully we’ve learnt from it and as a player you want another game to come around, so where better to go than White Hart Lane where there’ll be a great atmosphere, and a great chance for us to continue doing well.
“We have been on a good run and we want to maintain that towards the end of the season.”
