According to Footmercato, Tottenham Hotspur are willing to allow outcast winger George-Kevin Nkoudou to leave the club on loan in this January transfer window.

What’s the word?

The 23-year-old attacker has not appeared for Spurs at all so far this season aside from a single League Cup outing, and is seemingly a long, long way from consideration for first team action in the Premier League.

A loan switch, allowing the winger to gain some regular game time, would be the best thing for the former France under-21 international at this stage.

To convince that he has any kind of future with the north London club though, he must move somewhere that will allow him to prove his quality at a high level.

Several clubs would be wise to give Nkoudou a chance to demonstrate his worth in the Premier League. Southampton, in particular, ought to be keen to snap up Nkoudou on a loan deal this month.

A point to prove

The Saints currently lack pace and directness in their attacking contingent. Nkoudou would add a great deal of speed and flair, and if Ralph Hasenhuttl could get him playing at his best then the forward would add a new dimension to the south coast club’s attack.

What’s more, Nkoudou would be arriving at St Mary’s Stadium with a point to prove. Since his switch to White Hart Lane in 2016, he has failed to thrive under Mauricio Pochettino. He will be desperate to take any chance to prove that the Premier League is not a level too high for him.
