Southampton attacker Dusan Tadic has said that his team ‘should be ashamed’ that they currently sit in 18th position in the Premier League table.
The Saints have only won once in the Premier League since the end of November, with that rotten run of form leaving them inside the relegation zone.
Southampton have not even scored in the top flight since February 24, and have lost each of their last two league fixtures 3-0 to Newcastle United and West Ham United.
Tadic has claimed that his club should be embarrassed with their current situation, but the 29-year-old is still hopeful of escaping the bottom three in the final weeks of the campaign despite the negatively from the club’s supporters.
Tadic told Sky Sports News:
“We should be ashamed that we are in this kind of situation. We still have seven games to go and we need to try to get out of this situation, it doesn’t matter how, we need to do something.
“The first thing is we need to fight together and try to win matches, this is most important. It doesn’t matter how, we need to find solutions to win games.
Tadic impressed during his first three seasons with Southampton, but the Serbia international has only scored three Premier League goals during the 2017-18 campaign.
Mark Hughes’ side will look to return to winning ways when they make the trip to Arsenal on Sunday afternoon.
