Three reasons Southampton should sign out of favour Everton star Mirallas
According to reports on Sky Sports, Everton winger Kevin Mirallas was sent away from training on Saturday in an incident that is likely to have thrown his future in doubt.
Sky Sports says the 30-year-old, whose contract still has more than two-and-a-half years left to run, was banished from training along with teammate and former Southampton midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin due to a lack of effort having featured for just 406 minutes in total this season.
The attacker found first team football hard to come by under Ronald Koeman before the Dutchman was sacked last month, but despite starting against Chelsea and Leicester City under caretaker boss David Unsworth, the latest saga could see him leave the Merseyside outfit during the January transfer window.
Meanwhile, Southampton’s disappointing start to the campaign continued as they were beaten 1-0 by Burnley at St Mary’s on Saturday, and manager Mauricio Pellegrino will be looking to strengthen his attacking options in the New Year.
