Three reasons Southampton will cause an upset against Chelsea
Much has been made of Chelsea’s system change, as Conte’s tactical awareness has heaped success on the Blues in recent weeks. However, Sunday’s visit to St. Mary’s will prove no easy task for the Italian, who will be hopeful of not suffering a second defeat in five days.
On the contrary, Southampton will be looking to ensure their five-game unbeaten run in the Premier League continues. Puel’s new look Saints team have continued their impressive calendar year form which has witnessed the club achieve more points than Sunday’s visitors.
Chelsea’s record on the south coast is rather impressive – losing just once at St. Mary’s since the stadium opened in 2002. Southampton have not lost at home since February, coincidentally enough when Chelsea last visited the red and whites.
But we at Football FanCast can sense the winds of change around St. Mary’s and we’re resultantly tipping Southampton to cause an upset against the Blues this weekend. An audacious prediction, perhaps, but hear us out first.
