Three Southampton players that have no future at the club if Pellegrino leaves this summer

Southampton needed a late equaliser from substitute Manolo Gabbiadini to salvage a 1-1 draw against Burnley at Turf Moor, and it was a result and performance that did nothing to lift some of the pressure off of manager Mauricio Pellegrino, even though it could be a big point come the end of the season.

Saints went into the fixture in Lancashire in the bottom three and with only one Premier League win to their name since the end of November, and the match looked to be heading for a goalless draw before Ashley Barnes netted for the hosts, before Gabbiadni came off of the bench to net the leveller.

The south coast moved up to 16th after all of the weekend’s results, but Pellegrino’s job is likely to be under threat whether they go down or stay up considering they have only won five of 28 top flight games so far this term.

The Argentine has come under huge scrutiny from the St Mary’s crowd in recent months considering they have become used to their team competing to finish in the top eight, rather than being in and around the bottom three, in recent years.

The former Liverpool defender leaving the Saints wouldn’t be positive news for everyone though, and there would certainly be some players that have been regulars under the 6ft 4in boss that would be worried and believe that they would definitely be on their way out of the club at the end of the campaign as a result
