Southampton fans have taken to Twitter to react after The Sun reported that Leicester are planning a £15m move for Jannik Vestergaard.

The Saints are believed to be open to offers for the man who cost them £18m when arriving from Borussia Monchengladbach, as Brendan Rodgers looks to add another centre-back to his ranks to aid the Foxes' Champions League push.

Vestergaard has struggled for game time recently, having started just once in the Premier League since a 2-1 defeat to Everton on November 9th - that one start in question was against Crystal Palace last time out, and only came as a result of injury to Jan Bednarek.

Ralph Hasenhuttl's centre-back department is pretty light at the moment, as the Austrian has just Vestergaard and Maya Yoshida behind first-choice duo Bednarek and Jack Stephens - 21-year-old loanee Kevin Danso can also play there, but he has made just three Premier League starts this term.

Vestergaard has endured a tough campaign, having been substituted at half-time in the 9-0 defeat to Leicester while his side were 5-0 down - the fact that the Saints are also open to offers for him, despite not being that well stocked in central defence, tells you everything you need to know.

Let's see how the Southampton fans on Twitter reacted to the news...

To begin the reaction, Cameron said that this news has "got to be a wind up" - we are also wondering why Leicester would want to pay so much for a player who isn't even wanted by his own club anymore.

Elsewhere, Mark and Leesy both offered to drive the Denmark international to the King Power Stadium themselves, highlighting their desperation to get him away from St Mary's - harsh, but telling nonetheless.

Meanwhile, James demanded that Southampton "sell him now" - the capital letters really emphasise just how badly this supporter wants to see the 27-year-old moved on.

Lastly, these two supporters couldn't hide how funny they found this news.

Idiots Abroad: Do you know where these famous Brits are playing now?

@Bxdnarek simply laughed at The Sun's report, while Ryan asked "what?" before breaking into laughter himself - it truly would be a bizarre move from Rodgers given how lowly-rated Vestergaard is at St Mary's.
