The emergence of Yan Valery at right-back has surely made the sight of Cedric Soares in red and white a distant memory for Southampton fans. Valery recently signed a new deal with the Saints that will see him remain on the south coast until 2023 - all but confirming, if his solid showings weren't enough already, that he is now the first choice for Ralph Hasenhuttl.

Fortunately for Soares, Inter Milan are willing to pay what would surely be an eight-figure fee to sign him permanently - right? Wrong. According to Calciomercato (via Sport Witness), I Nerazzurri don't see the Portuguese as part of their plans 'at the moment' and are looking at other options on the right side of defence instead.

The San Siro club are trying desperately to claw back some ground on Juventus and re-assert their position as a titan of European football, and it appears they have no problem being brutally honest with their loan addition.

Watch how to cross the road like a boss with freestyler Ben Nuttall in the video below...

The former Sporting Lisbon man has been a faithful servant to the Saints since signing in 2015 but Hasenhuttl's arrival saw him follow the likes of Manolo Gabbiadini and Wesley Hoedt out the door and Valery subsequently take his place. What next for the £13.5m-rated defender, then, if neither Inter or Southampton want him?
