Manchester United, Arsenal and Chelsea have all been handed a major January transfer boost, with reports from the Daily Star revealing that Atletico Madrid are ready to sell defender Joao Miranda for £19.5m.
The Brazilian centre-back has been one of the Rojiblancos’ star turns in recent seasons, playing a key role in the La Liga and cup successes, as well as the journey to last term’s Champions League Final.
But his role at Atleti has been a diluted one so far in 2014/15, leading to suggestions that he could be sold.
This has alerted the likes of United, Chelsea and Arsenal, all of whom are thought to be in the market for an experienced enforcer.
Vicente Calderon chief Diego Simeone is believed to be ready to accept bids in the region of £19.5m next month for the 30-year-old, which is likely to lure the trio in.
United have been strongly linked with Miranda in recent weeks, while Arsenal are known to be in the market for central defensive reinforcements.
Chelsea’s interest may hinge on Kurt Zouma’s proposed loan move to Besiktas.
