West Ham have certainly endured a turbulent summer, with numerous highs and lows in the transfer market followed by a woeful start to the new Premier League season.

Playing away from home in their first three matches, West Ham lost to Manchester United, Newcastle and Southampton before the international break before ending their sorry streak last night against a Huddersfield Town side who were yet to concede a goal prior to their visit to the London Stadium.

Slaven Bilic was under intense pressure heading into the side but the Hammers held strong, aided by a superb tactical decision that was certainly controversial at the time- replacing Javier Hernandez with Andre Ayew, who went on to score the second goal of the match.

There's certainly a lot more work to do for the Hammers this season but a positive result in the first home game of the season will raise the hopes of Bilic's side, heading into a fairly manageable run of games between now and the end of October.

West Ham tackle West Brom this weekend before hosting Tottenham Hotspur, then clashing with Swansea, Burnley, Brighton and Crystal Palace.
