Spurs hero sticks up for under-fire ex-Man United man

A lot of commentators and pundits get a hard time, but Michael Owen seems to get it a lot tougher than most. The BT Sport man, who used to play for Manchester United and Liverpool, is criticised for his monotone voice, his lack of interesting comments and his general knowledge of the game, and it appears that the stick he got during the first half of the Red Devils’ clash with Tottenham really got to Spurs hero, Gary Lineker.

Scallywags Paddy Power aimed a dig at Owen, and the ex-England goalscorer waded in with an effective, if not eloquent, response.
