It's a scenario Tottenham never envisaged playing out earlier in the season. Riding high in third and on course to secure automatic qualification to the Champions League. Now they face a fight to hang onto their dreams of mixing it with the European elite as they head into the final game of the season at home to Fulham. With their great rivals currently occupy the spot Spurs made their own for much of the campaign before buckling under the pressure allowing their North London rivals to usurp them. With the Magpies also breathing down their necks it's imperative that Harry Redknapp's men secure a positive result at White Hart Lane on Sunday to make sure of fourth. But even that may not guarantee them Champions League football should Chelsea triumph in the final later this month. Missing out would be a bitter pill to swallow for Redknapp who'll blame the distraction of his tax evasion court case and media hyperbole over the England job as reasons for Tottenham's taking their eye off the ball.

"I'll be glad when next week is over. It's been a long old season. I just want to get in the Champions League and have a break and get away for a few days. "It has been a hard year for me personally. What I went through with the court case was the most difficult thing I've ever faced in my life. "It definitely takes a strain on you. I do tend to get on with things but there's no doubt it has an effect." Harry Redknapp admits he's in need of a holiday after a tough season in the Tottenham dugout
