Stats showing Man United were wrong to let go of David Moyes

Although Manchester United have reached the top four, Louis van Gaal is not doing as well as many would have hoped, despite being seen as the one who could fix the problems left by David Moyes.

In fact, the former United boss has a far superior away statistic when compared to the current manager, as some fans are already beginning to call for Van Gaal to get the sack.

Moyes saw his role in charge of the club cut short, as he was sacked before the season even ended, despite signing a six-year contract.

The Dutchman has only won three of his last 13 away games, scoring 16 and conceding 16, while the Scottish manager managed to win ten of his 18 away games, scoring 34 and conceding 21.

However, the biggest difference is that Moyes achieved this feat without any huge transfer additions, with Juan Mata and Marouane Fellaini the only big difference to his squad.

Meanwhile, Van Gaal spent around £150million on new players, but is yet to get a return on his investment based on his squad’s inability to capitalize on their opportunities to secure a spot in the top four.
